Automotive Headlamp Maintenance Tips

Headlamp brightness, beam focus and illumination distance directly affect safe night driving, so regular maintenance is essential.

When a lamp fails, choose a quality-assured replacement bulb. Bulb quality affects brightness, beam consistency and service life. Low-quality bulbs may be inexpensive but often require frequent replacement. Long-life products such as qualified xenon lamps can provide a service life of roughly 2,500–3,000 hours.

Inspect brightness and beam angle regularly, either through a service workshop or by monitoring performance while driving. If the beam is low or poorly focused, adjust the lamp. Replace the bulb if brightness has deteriorated significantly.

When replacement is required, replace bulbs on both sides with products of the same wattage to keep output balanced. Check both low and high beams after adjustment and confirm that the beam pattern is correct.
