Avoid excessive heat. Overheated engine pistons may melt and seize; rubber seals, V-belts and tyres age prematurely; and overheated windings in starters, alternators and regulators may burn out.

Observe installation direction. Cylinder-head gaskets, fan blades and directional tyres must be installed in the correct orientation to prevent premature damage and unsafe operation.

Keep parts clean. Dirty fuel, oil, air and hydraulic filters reduce filtration performance. Contaminated radiator fins, cylinder cooling fins and cooler fins impair heat dissipation and raise operating temperatures.

Do not omit hardware. Valve keepers must be installed in pairs, while cotter pins, locking screws, locking plates and spring washers must never be left out. Missing oil nozzles in a timing-gear housing can cause serious leakage.

Use the correct cleaning method. Do not wash paper air-filter elements or leather components with oil.

Prevent oil contamination. Oil on paper filters, V-belts, brake linings, dry-clutch friction plates or tyres can reduce performance, accelerate ageing and create safety risks.

Avoid compression during storage. Tyres, paper filter elements, rubber seals, V-belts and hoses may deform or lose performance under prolonged pressure.

Do not reuse single-use parts. Reusing components designed for one-time installation can cause serious failures or accidents.

Keep rubber products away from fire and high-temperature sources to prevent ageing, damage and fire hazards.
